RV power planner — build your battery and solar plan

Build a customized RV appliance energy budget, compare battery and solar scenarios, check your own equipment specifications and export a decision plan.

Build a power budget for your actual appliances rather than trusting a generic battery-runtime answer. Compare sunny and cloudy days, then test the specifications of equipment you are considering.

Planning tool, not an electrical design. All specifications and prices below are examples or visitor-entered. Capacity estimates cannot verify safe cabling, fusing, charging, inverter surge capability, low-temperature operation or manufacturer compatibility. Consult the relevant documentation and a qualified installer.
Step 1 · Your real appliances

How much energy do you actually use?

Record the watts while operating, hours per day, and the percentage of those hours the appliance is on. If you have a measured Wh/day reading, use the watts/hours/duty combination that reproduces it.

Step 2 · Your scenario

Storage, charging and bad weather

Enter your actual loads to generate a plan.

Step 3 · Compare actual products

Will the products you're considering cover this plan?

Copy values from manufacturer documentation and current store listings. These are your research entries, not tested or recommended products. Select the capacity basis: a power station's rated battery Wh uses the delivery-efficiency assumption above, a bare battery bank also uses your usable-capacity percentage, and documented usable outlet Wh receives no further loss factor. Rated battery Wh is not guaranteed outlet energy. Station comparisons assume full charge to device cutoff; enter usable outlet Wh for a documented charge reserve or other restriction.

Keep your decision plan

Decision rule: energy sufficiency is not electrical safety. Check instantaneous/starting watts, DC and AC output limits, manufacturer battery profiles, charger currents, operating temperatures, protection devices, space and professional installation requirements before purchasing.
